Climate demonstrators in Berlin have again caused significant traffic obstructions with a road blockade.
As a result, there are traffic jams in all directions on Tempelhofer Damm in the area of the motorway junction, said the traffic information center (VIZ) on Twitter on Monday morning.
According to a police spokeswoman, several people were on the roadway of Tempelhofer Damm below an S-Bahn bridge.
Berlin – police forces are on their way, the spokeswoman said.
According to the last generation climate group, nationwide campaigns were planned at the beginning of the week.
"We have nothing left but peaceful resistance," it said on Twitter.
The group calls for more measures to protect the climate.
Since the beginning of 2022, it has repeatedly blocked freeway exits and other roads in many cities, with Berlin being a focal point.
