On video: Extension of detention in Tel Aviv kindergarten abuse case (Walla system!)
A mother from Bnei Brak was arrested on suspicion of trying to contaminate the wounds of her one-year-old toddler son - this was reported by the police this evening (Tuesday).
The report on the case was received from Safra Children's Hospital, after the medical staff noticed unusual behavior of the mother - who was arrested on suspicion of child abuse.
The child's condition is mild.
At the beginning of the week, the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court allowed the publication of the name of the nanny suspected of abusing toddlers at the Witzo daycare center in Sderot.
This is Ilana Suisa, who is suspected of more than 200 cases of abuse in the last three months.
"We are in a big nightmare. I couldn't believe it at first," says Ravita Shmoalev, mother of a toddler in the daycare.
"The police showed us terrible videos. We are crushed and feel that my life has stopped. Now I understand why children started beating. We are pained by what happened."
About a month ago, an indictment was filed against Nathalie Eli, a kindergarten assistant living in Haifa, for multiple incidents of assaulting a toddler.
The events were revealed in October 2020, after they were recorded by the kindergarten cameras over several days.
The Haifa police investigated.
And after more than two years, the Haifa district attorney's office filed the indictment.
On the one hand, the parents are satisfied with the fact that it was submitted, but on the other hand, they say "too little too late".
The assistant, a 34-year-old resident of the Neve Yosef neighborhood, worked at the "Ba Li Gan" kindergarten in the Sabioni Dania neighborhood of the city.
She is accused of assaulting R., who was about two years old at the time.
