For his part, the head of the Armenian community branch in Moscow, Nerses Nersessian, said: "We came to express our feelings of sympathy with the Syrian people, and to offer condolences to the victims of the earthquake that struck parts of the Syrian lands."

In turn, the head of the (Armenia Aid Fund) Sarkis Sarkissian stressed that this visit is an expression of the historical friendship that extends between our peoples since the Armenian massacres until today, and that hundreds of Armenian families have found a home for them in Syria, and we are grateful for the facts about the reality that the Armenians of Syria live in, which is a symbol Sacrifice and brotherhood between us.

On a similar occasion, Ambassador Al-Jaafari received today a group of students of the Financial University in Moscow, expressing to them his thanks and gratitude for the voluntary support shown by the students of Russian universities, especially the students of the Financial University in helping to collect, sort and classify the relief items provided by donors to the earthquake victims in Syria.
