An indictment will be filed against a resident of Jessar al-Zarqa, in his 20s, on suspicion of trying to slit his brother's throat with a knife and causing extensive damage to the house, the Israel Police announced today (Tuesday).
The incident began when last Wednesday the police received a complaint about the suspect, who is rampaging in his home and causing a lot of damage.
Jasr al-Zarqa police officers who were called to the scene found the suspect holding a knife in his hands and trying to slit his brother's throat.
The police, with the help of family members, managed to rescue the brother and detained the suspect for questioning at the police station, at the end of which he was imprisoned.
In accordance with the findings and results of the investigation, the Hadera Magistrate's Court extended his detention from time to time. Today, the Hadera Claims Branch filed a statement of claim against him at the Hadera Magistrate's Court, prior to the filing of an indictment, as well as a request for his arrest until the end of the legal proceedings.
Three weeks ago, on February 3, Muhammad Amash, a young man of about 23 years old, was murdered in Jasar al-Zarqa. Amash was standing outside his house and suspects shot him from a nearby roof.
Thanks to the quick response of the police, four suspects were arrested in the shooting.
