The Cultural and Art Events Committee held its first meeting today (21st) to discuss the application procedures and rules of the "Cultural and Art Events Fund", as well as discuss the feasibility of inviting internationally renowned art fairs, installation art exhibitions, and large-scale music performances to Hong Kong.
After deliberation by the committee, a total of four activities were approved under the pilot scheme, including Art Basel Hong Kong Exhibition 2023, Art Central 2023, "Song Huaigui: Art Pioneer and Fashion Godmother" and "Masterpieces of the National Gallery of London (tentative name)" .

The Cultural and Art Events Committee discussed the application procedures and rules of the "Cultural and Art Events Fund" today, and provided advice on strategies for attracting new and different forms of cultural and artistic events to Hong Kong. Members also discussed inviting internationally renowned art fairs and installation art exhibitions , and the feasibility of coming to Hong Kong for large-scale music performances.
The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau will launch the Pilot Program of the Cultural Events Fund at the end of 2022, and accept applications for large-scale cultural events planned to be held in 2023 before the Cultural Events Committee is fully operational.
After deliberation, four events were approved under the Pilot Scheme, including Art Basel Hong Kong 2023, Art Central 2023, "Song Huaigui: Art Pioneer and Fashion Godmother" and "Masterpieces of the National Gallery of London (tentative title)".
The Cultural Events Fund plans to officially accept applications in the second quarter of 2023, and relevant details will be announced later.
