Bad news for flying abroad: this is the reason for the jump in the prices of your vacations | Israel Hayom

If you have not yet booked a vacation overseas, you will probably have to pay hundreds of shekels more for it than what you would have paid for it until recently.

Passover will reach us in about a month and a half, and will also bring with it a jump in the tourism season - during which tens of thousands of Israelis are expected to go on vacation overseas.

A little later, on Shavuot and during the summer months, hundreds of thousands of Israelis are expected to leave the country for a vacation abroad.

• Beyoncé, Coldplay, Madonna and more: all the best performances abroad - and how much will a package cost you?

Those who have so far managed to book a vacation enjoy relatively reasonable dollar, euro and pound exchange rates, but in recent weeks there has been a significant jump in the exchange rates of foreign currencies compared to the shekel.

The euro exchange rate, for example, jumped by 22 cents in less than a month and by more than 60 cents in a few months.

This means that we will pay about NIS 600 more for every thousand euros.

the price is rising.

On top of that, the dollar exchange rate has also strengthened by about 40 shekels in the last few months and by 30 shekels in the last few weeks, so that for every 1,000 dollars we have to pay about 400 shekels more.

The British pound also strengthened against the shekel, and it is trading at 4.4 shekels against the shekel.

This is an increase of 65 cents in recent months and 30 cents in recent weeks.

For every 1,000 pounds, we will pay about NIS 650 more compared to about five months ago.

There is no way to predict whether the shekel will weaken or strengthen against the foreign currencies, so it is difficult to know when it is right to book a vacation to save money.

At the same time, in an interview that will soon be published in Israel Hayom, the CEO of Arkia International says that there is a very high demand for summer vacations, which means that as we get closer to the date, there is a likelihood that the prices will continue to rise.

shows no signs of slowing down.
