Erding

– After all, around 220 of the 548 members of the Erding district fishing association came to the annual general meeting in the town hall, the first big meeting after the Corona compulsory break.

In addition to some reports from the specialist departments, the new board of directors was elected, an overview of dates for the current year and a vote on higher expense allowances for board members and other officials.

"After a long break, it's nice to see members face to face again," said Wolfgang Ludwig, the chairman, in his speech, in which he also pointed out important dates this year.

The clubhouse is to be restored, and the public celebrations are once again the fish barbecue on Good Friday (April 7th), the Fisherman's Festival (June 24th/25th) and the Linden Festival (August 19th/20th).

In addition, there is around 20 to 30 percent more stock in the fish waters this year.

Thomas Schiffler from the Fishing Association of Upper Bavaria emphasized the importance of fishing and above all wished for more youth work, "after all, our interventions with the government have helped to preserve this hobby".

He was happy that appointments could finally take place again.

He referred to the youth training camp and the Upper Bavarian Fishing Day, both of which take place on Lake Chiemsee.

As the second water warden, Matteo La Torre was able to report successful fish stocking and "a few big pike", stocking in smaller waters turned out to be quite sensible.

During visits to fish farms in Lower Austria and near Tirschenreuth, important new experiences were made, and crab fishing in the Sempt started again in the spring, "although only permitted for those authorized to catch".

As youth leader Markus Berke explained, the Sempt was also the destination for a youth meeting, "including a tent camp with a good atmosphere".

Happy expressions could also be seen in the plenary session when the previous cashier, Nico Albes, announced the club's finances.

After all, with income of around 255,000 euros and expenses of around 224,000 euros, a surplus of around 31,000 euros was generated. Auditor Michael Argyusi also confirmed to the treasurer that the cash register was clean.

This paved the way for new elections (see end of text), with some positions being filled.

The vote on higher expense allowances also went smoothly: in future, 250 instead of 180 euros (board members) and 125 instead of 90 euros (officials) will be distributed here per person and year.

The guest speakers also noted that the district fishermen are doing well.

Petra Bauernfeind, Deputy Mayor, stated that “our waters are in good hands with you”.

The deputy district administrator Rainer Mehringer emphasized the importance of water protection, and Thomas Schreder from the district hunting association emphasized the close connection between hunters and fishermen.

He pleaded for more women to get enthusiastic about this hobby in nature - at least 24 female members are currently registered in the fishing club.
