Iran: German-Iranians sentenced to death

In Iran, the German-Iranian Jamshid Sharmahd has been sentenced to death in a controversial trial. A revolutionary court in Tehran pronounced the verdict against the 67-year-old.

The Iranian judiciary has sentenced the Iranian-German citizen Jamshid Sharmahd to death for "corruption on earth".

This is reported by the Mizan news agency.

Jamshid Sharmahd had established himself as an activist for years, mainly from exile in the US

deployed out for the Iranian opposition.

He is accused by Iran of leading a pro-monarchist group accused of a deadly 2008 bombing in the country.
