English Premier League club Liverpool FC is not for sale, team owner John Henry told the Boston Sports Journal in an interview published Sunday.
Henry's Fenway Sports Group (FSG) owns the Boston Red Sox American baseball team, as well as Liverpool FC, the top division soccer club they bought in 2010.
"I know there have been a lot of talks and quotes about the LFC (Liverpool Football Club), but I'm sticking to the facts: we just formalized an ongoing process," Henry told the Boston Sports Journal in an emailed question-and-answer session. .

"Are we going to be in England forever? Will we sell LFC? Are we talking to investors about LFC? Yes. Will something happen there? I think so, but it won't be a sale. Have we sold anything in the last 20+ years ?" Henry added to the Boston Sports Journal.

In November 2022, FSG released a statement saying that "we would consider new shareholders if it is in the best interest of Liverpool as a club", but did not directly respond to whether the club was for sale.
