"Pilo Albertelli is the first school in Lazio to recognize menstrual leave. An important step towards recognizing gender health at all levels. Not all bodies are the same, but everyone must be protected in fundamental rights such as the one to study" .
This was declared by the Councilor for School, Training, Work in Rome, Claudia Pratelli.
"We hope that this school will be the first of a long series and that, as is already happening with alias careers, it will also inspire workplaces and society as a whole", adds Pratelli.
The Roman high school made its decision yesterday evening during a session of the school board.
Therefore, female students suffering from pathologies such as endometriosis, dysmenorrhea and vulvodynia, by showing a special medical certificate, will be entitled to be absent for two days a month.
Absences therefore justified.
On January 8, the Middle School Network had asked for the approval of menstrual leave in high schools.
Other Institutes are now ready to adopt the same measure.
