Although many families make many purchases online, the Israeli people still make more purchases in malls.

According to a survey conducted on the occasion of Family Day by Azriel.com, 51% of families usually shop in malls, compared to 44% who do so online.

However, from a geographical point of view - the conduct is slightly different.

The survey examined the internet shopping consumption habits of families with children aged 9-18, who purchase products online at least once every three months.

In Haifa, for example, there is a significant difference in shopping habits on the Internet compared to the mall - 56% compared to 40%.

In the center and Tel Aviv the difference is minor and stands at only 3% between the mall and the Internet, and in the rest of the country - South, Judea and Samaria, Jerusalem and North - people still shop in malls (range of 54%-59%) and less online (37%-44%).

The survey shows that in terms of the degree of enjoyment, families enjoy almost as much shopping for home and family via the Internet (46%) and in the mall (48%).

A surprising statistic is that the ultra-orthodox sector is the sector that most enjoys shopping online: 56% of them enjoy shopping online for home and family, compared to 38% who prefer the mall.

As for the main advantages of buying online, 43% of the respondents answered that the advantages of buying online are the prices and promotions, saving time (34% of the respondents), the ease of the second (33%), the variety of products available to them (17%) and the fact that there is no need to leave the house (16%) ).

The survey also shows that 70% of online shopping is done for children, and only 25% of them for parents.

When the children ask to purchase for themselves, only 14% purchase independently - while 84% purchase through their parents.

At the age of 14-18, more children purchase independently (21%) compared to children aged 9-13 (9%), but dependence on parents is also high among 14-18 year olds (74%).

Among 9-13 year olds the dependence is almost complete, and stands at 91%.

Although the parents are the ones who usually make the actual purchase, when it comes to issues related to clothing and footwear, the children are also involved in deciding what to purchase: at the age of 14-18, 57% of children decide what to purchase, compared to 40% that their parents decide for them.

At the age of 9-13, 36% of them make the decision themselves what to buy, compared to 60% that the parents decide for them.

The most purchased products online for home and family are: 58% fashion details clothing, shoes, jewelry and more;

10% electronics, smartphone, gadgets, gaming, TV screens and computers;

8% toys and games, 8% home and garden products, 7% pharm and beauty, 4% electrical products and 2% sports, camping and leisure.
