Opinion Family Day: Where did the Israeli mother go? | Israel today

The Supreme Court demanded that women be made available to work as surrogates for same-sex or single men in Israel, with the consent of politicians, academics and feminists

Today the State of Israel celebrates "Family Day", like every year.

Family Day is actually "Mother's Day", which we celebrated in Israel after the establishment of the state, and is the day of Henrietta Sold's death.

Sald was an American Jew, who turned the "Hadasa" organization into a huge enterprise promoting medicine in Israel and founded the "Youth Ascension" enterprise, which saved children who survived the Holocaust and children from Islamic countries.

There are countries where "Father's Day" is celebrated alongside "Mother's Day".

In Israel, they decided to cancel both and turn L. B'Shevat into "Family Day", which recently became a sales promotion day for family structures that don't have a father or a mother.

Indeed, instead of "respect your father and your mother" and "man his mother and his father you shall fear" - in Israel the words "father" and "mother" are seen as an "offensive" combination that must be replaced, as is already done in most official forms, with "parent 1" and "parent 2".

There are families with three parents for children: a father and two mothers, a mother and two fathers.

Those who rightly claim that adultery and inheritance harm Israeli families more than these changes, ignore the fact that breaking the commandment "thou shalt not commit adultery" involves a rude kick to "honor thy father and thy mother".

An entire generation is growing up without awareness and without the emotional and moral tools to build a family in which a father and mother share parentage when the time comes.

Much knowledge is hidden and goes down the drain.

These things are doubly serious when the absence of the mother involves trafficking in the body of a woman called in the washed-up language "surrogate mother".

It refers to a woman who carries in her womb, for a fee, an embryo from the sperm of a man who is not the father of her children, and of an unknown egg donor.

This process of conception, carrying the baby and selling it takes an average of three years and takes place in fertility departments in hospitals, which wish to increase the scope of profits from this service.

Upon birth, the baby is given to the buyers, and usually the surrogate mother (in the Knesset debate a few years ago, they made sure to remove the word "mother" and call her only "surrogate") will pump milk for them at this stage and sell it as well.

It should be noted that the quality of this "breastfeeding" is less than real breastfeeding, but the laws of nature have also become negligible in our places.

In the State of Israel, from the beginning, the assistance of a "surrogate mother" was made possible only for women married to men and facing a serious medical problem that prevents them from conceiving and giving birth.

Later, the Knesset extended the possibility of using a "surrogate mother" also to single or same-sex women facing health problems.

Studies have shown that this moral concept, unique to Israel, was successful.

The mother and the woman who helped her remained friends, and even the children got to know the surrogate mother.

Later, same-sex men petitioned the Supreme Court to demand the "right" to use a surrogate.

A medical ethics committee headed by Prof. Mor-Yosef proposed that women volunteer to conceive, give birth and pump milk for those men, and they refused to accept the compromise.

And so it turned out that the last ruling in which the Supreme Court overruled both the decision of the Medical Ethical Committee, the decision of the Knesset and the position of the Ministry of Justice together (!) was the one that demanded that women be made available to work as surrogates for same-sex or single men in Israel.

The Minister of Health from Meretz implemented it, and the ultra-Orthodox Minister of Health of Shas budgeted for it in the "medicine basket" (!), at the expense of the elderly and patients with serious diseases. The media that day dealt with the minister's personal affairs, and the trafficking of women and babies by healthy men suddenly became a standard phenomenon, According to the demand of the High Court and with the enthusiastic agreement of politicians, academics and feminists.

The people of Israel are now left with the personal decision, of men and women who wish to prevent the damage that will be caused by the expansion of this industry, and to bring children into the world within the framework of marriage or joint parenting which involves the loyalty of a father and mother.
