Tension in the ruling party: the head of the Evita Movement questioned whether Cristina Kirchner reaches 40% of the votes

This was said by Emilio Pérsico, an ally of Alberto Fernández and a Social Development official. It occurs in the middle of the debate over the candidacies and the pressure from La Cámpora to lower the President.

The Evita Movement, which was represented at the "political table" of the Frente de Todos through the figure of Fernando Chino Navarro, questioned whether an eventual presidential candidacy of Cristina Kirchner would guarantee the triumph of the ruling party.

"I would like her to be a candidate, but

we have to see if she can and if she takes us to that 40-odd percent (of votes)

. That is the doubt that I have, that Cristina has and that we all have. That is why we are looking for a candidate that can take us to that place," said Emilio Pérsico in dialogue with Radio Con Vos.

The leader of Evita also maintained that the "situation of political persecution" of the vice president poses a scenario of a "very antagonized" campaign.

The Secretary of Social Economy of the Ministry of Social Development explained that the Frente de Todos has a voting intention floor of around 32 points and that it is

necessary to exceed 40 to be able to fight at the polls.

"The candidate is the one that allows us to reach 40-odd, the candidate's profile is closely related to trying to reach 40-odd," he insisted.

The civil servant and social leader maintained that the former president suffers "political persecution" and that this complicates the electoral strategy of the ruling party, towards the 2023 presidential elections.

"She is persecuted, there is a persecution policy and exaggerating all the things that have to do with her persecution, which is in the media, makes it very difficult today for Cristina to be a candidate, in that she is right, that persecution greatly conditions the whole of the movement and of the Frente de Todos," he said.

At the same time that he expressed his position regarding the supposed "proscription", which framed it in a strategy of a sector of the government coalition.

"There is a persecution. I think that she too, like many persecuted compañeros who were candidates from prison even, that could be done but it is part of the policy. Now there is a political maneuver because the lists are closing and each one has his way of enlarging his space to say it in some way", he pointed out.

Pérsico and “Chino” Navarro, referents of Evita, are preparing a mass event for mid-March in a stadium in the City of Buenos Aires where they will present their brand new party seal, Patria de los Comunes, and will announce candidates in 20 Buenos Aires districts and two provincial governments.

"We are going to do an act and others do other things, each one becomes strong. Cristina's leadership in Argentina is very strong, she has a piece of society and use it for the electoral process... We would all use it," he said. .

When asked about the eventual search for the re-election of President Alberto Fernández, he replied that the objective is to "find the best person who allows us to carry out the best campaign."
