Cologne – The lane towards Frankfurt on the A3 motorway is closed on Tuesday morning.
It is currently backed up three kilometers from the Köln-Ost junction, as can be seen from the WDR traffic update (as of 6:39 a.m.).

The reason for the traffic jam on the A3 in North Rhine-Westphalia: In the Cologne-Heumar triangle, a truck lost a 16-ton load.
A crane is in use to salvage the lost bridge parts from the street, said a police spokesman in Cologne on Tuesday.
It was therefore still unclear why the load had fallen from the truck.
A local detour has been set up.
