The UAE Minister of Health and Community Protection, Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Owais, confirmed his country's continuation to support the Syrian people, especially in the medical sector, to face the repercussions of the earthquake.
Al-Owais said in a statement today after he and the Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghobash, and the Governor of Lattakia, Amer Hilal, were briefed on the sites affected by the earthquake in the city of Jableh: We and the Syrians are one people, and there is continuous communication to help our brothers in Syria, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President State, and with the direct follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of the Presidential Court, to secure direct health and medical needs, pointing to the formation of an Emirati team of doctors, engineers and technicians specialized in health services to study the current situation and support the brothers in Syria with all that the UAE can provide, not for this stage, but for the next stages.
Al Owais added: The earthquake disaster does not represent a challenge to Syria only, but to all of humanity, and we hope to see a unified position towards this great humanitarian challenge in the world. Communicate, interact and contribute more, commensurate with the scale of the disaster and its great repercussions.
For his part, Minister of Health Dr. Hassan Al-Ghobash said: “His Excellency, the UAE Minister of Health, was acquainted with the damage caused by the earthquake in Jableh.. The cooperation between our two brotherly countries in the health sector is not new, as the UAE has always supported this sector to secure appropriate health services for citizens, and we look forward to For more, continuity and promotion of this cooperation.. As Minister Al Owais said, the UAE is ready to provide all possible support and assistance to the health sector in Syria.
Earlier today, the UAE Minister of Health and Community Protection arrived at Latakia International Airport, accompanied by a medical delegation on board a plane loaded with 46 tons of relief aid for those affected by the earthquake.
