A seaside resort located between Nice and Cannes, Antibes is now the second most populated city in the Alpes-Maritimes, according to the latest census study, as of January 1, 2023, published by INSEE.
Its population now reaches 75,779 inhabitants, far behind “
Nissa la bella
” which flirts for its part with 350,000 souls.
In third position, Cannes has 73,159 inhabitants, more or less the same as its neighbor.
“Depending on the calculation methods, the ranking varies from year to year.
The important thing is that our two cities retain their attractiveness, their dynamism and their quality of life”
, commented on Twitter the mayor of Antibes, Jean Leonetti.
In a previous census dated January 1, 2016, the Antibes population reached 73,798 people.
In seven years, it has therefore increased by 2.6%.
An upward trend that the municipality explains by
“the attractiveness of the Technopole Sophia Antipolis, through the increase in housing and the increase in enrollment in schools”.
In a press release, it specifies about its technopole that it creates
“every year 1000 new jobs spread over 2500 companies in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotechnologies, etc.
The Technopole welcomes 5,500 students and 4,500 researchers from the public sector every year.”

And to specify that in 2022, 923 new Antibois were born.

Over ten years, Antibes Juan-les-Pins has experienced an average of 909 births per year, with around 450 girls and 459 boys.
