Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir blamed the court today (Wednesday) for ordering the release of the 13-year-old terrorist who carried out the attack in the City of David in Jerusalem, and to transfer him to a closed residence.
In response, the attorney's office said that in view of the fact that this is a minor under the age of 14, he cannot be detained, and the duration of the criticism is "unfounded."
"It is not possible for a terrorist who set out to murder Jews and his malicious plan failed, to receive rehabilitation with trips, education classes and a host of other things," said Ben Gvir.
He added, "Terrorists need to die and this morning we submitted the death penalty bill for terrorists to fight terrorism."
In a statement on behalf of the attorney's office, it was stated: "We would like to clarify that according to the law in the State of Israel, a minor under the age of 14 cannot be detained behind bars after filing an indictment, therefore the criticism of the attorney's office in this regard is unfounded."

The terrorist, a 13-year-old boy from Silwan, carried out the shooting attack in Ma'at City of David in Jerusalem at the end of last month, in which he shot a father and his son.
The father, 47, was moderately injured and his son, a 22-year-old IDF officer, was seriously injured. The terrorist was neutralized by two bystanders.
According to the indictment filed against him, he decided to carry out a murderous terrorist attack against Jews and for that he watched videos and learned how to manipulate gun and shoot.
