Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana voted today (Wednesday) against the coalition's position and supported the bill for the adoption of children by same-sex couples. Finally, the bill fell when the coalition led in the votes.

In MK Yorai Lahav-Hertzano's bill, it was proposed that the possibility of adopting children would be given not only to married couples who are husband and wife, but also to couples who are not registered as married in the rabbinate, as well as to same-sex couples. Before the vote, the coalition, a large part of which is religious, decided vote against. Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana decided to vote for.
In the end the bill was defeated.
