The German government decided to expel two of the employees of the Iranian embassy in Berlin as a response to the death sentence issued yesterday against an Iranian-German, whom the regime in Tehran accuses of underground activity on behalf of the royalist opposition.

Against Jamshid Sharmhead, a resident of the USA, it is alleged that he headed an underground group supporting the return of the monarchical regime to Iran, which carried out a deadly attack against a mosque in 2008 and planned to carry out additional attacks.

At the same time as the embassy employees were expelled, the person in charge of the Iranian embassy was summoned to a reprimand at the German Foreign Ministry.

The German Foreign Minister, Anlana Barbuk, said after the reprimand call: "He (Iranian Iran) was told that Germany does not accept the massive human rights violation of a German citizen.

We call on Iran to withdraw the death sentence and allow Sharmad an appeal process against the charges against him based on the rule of law.

Not only is the death penalty cruel and inhumane, Sharmahead was not given a chance for anything resembling a fair trial.'

According to the minister, the Iranians avoided Shermhead and also prevented the employees of the German embassy from having any contact with the convict during his stay in detention.

The family of the 67-year-old Sharmhead denies the Iranian regime's claims that Sharmhead is the head of the military wing of the royalist opposition group, and says that he served only as a spokesman for the group and was kidnapped two and a half years ago by Iranian intelligence while he was traveling between flights in Dubai.

Sharmhead still faces the possibility of filing an appeal against the sentence.

This affair further clouds the growing tensions in the relationship between Berlin and Tehran.
