The Mexican justice system revoked on Tuesday a sentence that prevented Linda Cristina Pereyra Gálvez, wife of former Secretary of Citizen Security Genaro García Luna, from making financial movements in the country, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit.

Pereyra Gálvez had been included in the list of people blocked by the Financial Intelligence Unit on December 9, 2019, the same day that García Luna was arrested in the United States on charges related to drug trafficking, while the trial against her husband in federal court in New York, according to the press release.
The decision comes hours after García Luna was found guilty by a jury.
The sentence will be known on June 27.
During the trial, Pereyra Gálvez testified on behalf of the former Secretary of Public Security of Mexico, and said that the money they had was the result of savings, loans and legitimate businesses.
