The inhabitants of our metropolis need means for Justice
": these are the words of Mounir Belhamiti, deputy of Loire-Atlantique, Ronan Dantec and Laurence Garnier, senators of the department, and Johanna Rolland, mayor of Nantes, in a letter sent this Wednesday to the Keeper of the Seals, Éric Dupond-Moretti.
During the last city council, on February 3, the socialist councilor had suggested to his colleagues “
to unite
” their “
forces
”, “
beyond political sensitivities
” in order to co-write a common letter.
Less than three weeks later, the letter left.
Renaissance, environmentalist and right-wing elected officials have therefore united their voices to make themselves heard, in a context of increased staff dedicated to the judicial world.
"
We ask you to take into account the emergency situation of the Nantes court in the implementation of the Justice plan
", they beg, almost two months after the announcement of 7.5 billion additional euros used in particular to the hiring of 1,500 magistrates and 1,500 court clerks.

While Nantes encountered a "
succession of tragic events
" in September 2022, the signatories, who welcome the police reinforcements sent by the State, believe that a judicial response is necessary to "
carry out the work of dismantling the networks and the fight against street dealing which degrades the quality of life of the inhabitants
”.

to the demographic evolution of our territory, nor to that of the forms of delinquency and criminality which have developed there
