New York-SANA called on Palestine this evening to hold an emergency meeting of the Security Council to condemn what the occupation authorities are committing

Palestine demanded this evening to convene an emergency meeting of the Security Council to condemn the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinian people, the latest of which is the Nablus massacre and the rest of the ongoing massacres, and to request international protection.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said in a statement, according to Wafa news agency, "We requested an emergency meeting of the Security Council with the aim of collective and individual condemnation by countries of the occupation's massacres, in addition to a request for international protection."

In turn, the Palestinian representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, pointed out that a letter will be sent to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the same to the Security Council regarding the Nablus massacre committed by the occupying forces this morning, indicating that the letter calls for protection for the Palestinian people and the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions regarding occupied Palestine.

Mansour indicated before the Committee on the Palestinian People's Exercise of Their Inalienable Rights that the United Nations' credibility is lost as long as it is unable to implement any of its resolutions on Palestine and stop the repeated Israeli aggressions against Palestine and its people.

For his part, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed before the United Nations Committee on the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People that “the status of Jerusalem cannot be changed by unilateral actions, just as all settlement activities are illegal according to international law and must stop, and our goals remain to end the occupation.”

Guterres warned of the escalation of tension in the region following the death of 10 Palestinians and the wounding of more than 80 by Israeli occupation forces' bullets in Nablus. In the first two months of this year, violence flares up unabated.
