Armenian President Vahaken Khatchadorian renewed his country's readiness to provide all possible support and assistance to mitigate the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that hit Syria.
This came during the President's meeting today with the Syrian Ambassador to Armenia, Nora Arissian, members of the embassy and representatives of the Syrian community, where they talked about the effects of the earthquake, in addition to the historical friendship relations that bind the two friendly countries and peoples.
Khatchadorian praised the steadfastness and resistance of the Syrian people during the terrorist war they are facing, stressing that Syria will overcome this ordeal that it was subjected to as a result of the earthquake.
For her part, the ambassador expressed Syria's appreciation and gratitude for Armenia's solidarity, which was manifested by sending a rescue team and humanitarian aid planes.
The Armenian president had affirmed his country's solidarity and standing by Syria following the violent earthquake it suffered during a visit to the Syrian embassy in the capital, Yerevan, on the tenth of this month.
