(CNN Spanish) -
For the first time in its history, the Latin Grammys will leave the United States.
This Wednesday it was announced that the awards ceremony will be held for the first time in Spain, in the Andalusia region, in the south of the country.
The information was released by Juan Manuel Moreno, president of the Junta de AndalucĂa, at a press conference.
"Andalusia will host two major concerts this year, starting in September, and will host
Latin Grammy Week in November.
A week of top-level activities with at least eight major musical events that will end with the awards ceremony. One week in which the most important stars of Latin music will shine precisely in Andalusia", said Moreno.
In that same press conference, Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, said: "That the Latin Grammy comes out of the United States for the first time is a reason for special celebration and what better than in Andalusia, with extraordinary hosts ".

The Latin Recording Academy confirmed the news to CNN en Español and said that Seville may be the city that will host the ceremony.
"We are considering Seville as the host city for the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards this November, but we are still working on production details with our partners TelevisaUnivision," says Abud in the statement shared with this network.
Traditionally, the Latin Grammys, which have been awarded since the year 2000, are held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Other cities like Miami or New York have hosted the awards in the past.
In an interview with Zona Pop CNN in September 2022, Abud anticipated that this year's ceremony could have a surprise destination.
"
It is not certain that we will stay for many years in Las Vegas. There have been several cities that have approached us and that we are analyzing very carefully. It is not at all certain, but what I can tell you is that although Las Vegas is going be our home this year (2022), it won't necessarily be like that for the next ones," Abud told CNN Pop Zone.
In the past, Seville has hosted awards of international stature.
In 2019, the city hosted the MTV European Music Awards.
