The Negev Region of the Israel Police, in cooperation with the units of the southern district, began an operational activity in the last day against the background of the difficult clan struggles in the Bedouin settlement of Arara - located in the Arad Valley.

So far, as part of the operation, 11 suspects have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the violent incidents and illegal anti-terrorist items have been seized. In the meantime, the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir held a situation assessment discussion following the events of the appeal last night with the Police Commissioner, Chief of Police Kobi Shabtai and Commander of the Negev Region of the Police Chief Nachshon Nagler.
In the discussion, Ben Gvir directed the police to enter the village and enforce the law, as part of his policy, according to which one must enter the villages and demonstrate a high police presence, despite the significant lack of police forces and with the understanding that it is important to suppress these incidents at the beginning.
The minister's office also stated that these days he is working to significantly increase the police budget for next year, in order to recruit thousands more police officers and establish a national guard.
"We must strengthen our governance even within the villages," said Ben Gabir against the background of the rising internal violence in Arab society.
According to him, "Violence in a village is violence against a 3-year-old girl who did nothing, and such violence will spill over into the rest of the State of Israel. I will not tolerate the Negev becoming the Wild West of Israel. The law of appeal is the law of Tel Aviv."
