The Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Establishing 1,000 settlement units south of Bethlehem is an extension of the Israeli occupation's crimes

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' announcement this evening to establish 1,000 new settlement units south of Bethlehem in the West Bank.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement, according to WAFA Agency, that this measure is part of thousands of new settlement units, and an extension of the occupation’s crimes and its racist colonial measures based on the gradual and silent annexation of the West Bank, undermining the opportunity to embody the Palestinian state on the land with its capital, occupied Jerusalem, and Israeli disregard for the decisions of international legitimacy and the Council’s statement. The latest international security issued unanimously by the Member States.

The Foreign Ministry called on the international community to take the necessary measures and practical steps to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially Resolution 2334, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people as a prelude to enable them to exercise their right to self-determination.
