The Central District Court today sentenced the four assistants from the Tully nursery in Ramla, who were convicted of abusing toddlers.

The court sentenced Ruhama Saad, Nirit Shvid, Nana Tsitsashvili and Orli Shahrhani to between 3.5 and 5 years in prison.

The relative share of the accused in the commission of the offenses is not the same and there is a degree of severity between them.

The offenses attributed to the defendants are abuse of a minor, assault of a minor by a responsible person causing injury and simple assault.

The state petitioned for the defendants to be sentenced to 7 years in prison, while the defense petitioned for the defendants to be sentenced to service.

The court found great severity in the fact that the toddlers absorbed the comfort of the arms of all the defendants, so that they had no rest and comfort not even from one of them.

The court also determined that there is great severity in that some of the defendants' acts of violence were committed for the sake of violence and not in an attempt to perform an act of care for toddlers such as feeding them or putting them to sleep.

He also stated that "the defendants were responsible for the care of infants and young children, for their safety, well-being and safety.

"They harmed their bodies, humiliated them and imposed fear and terror on them. In some of their actions, they put them at significant risk of serious damage to the integrity of their bodies and their normal physical and emotional development. These are babies and toddlers who are distinctly helpless, completely dependent on their caregivers, and they have not yet learned to express themselves in a way that they can describe the harm to them and protect themselves.

He concluded his words by saying: "The accused seriously violated the trust placed in them by the parents of the victims of the crime, who entrusted in their hands what was most precious to them, out of a natural expectation that the accused would take care of them with devotion and preserve their safety and security."

Judge Ami Kobo said: "The harm is at a high level in the case of the four defendants in view of the number of cases and the number of victims. Toddlers who could not speak or defend themselves, and could not understand the meaning of the harsh actions of the defendants towards them. This is not a one-time trip by any of the defendants, in a moment One of a momentary loss of control, but in a systematic and continuous behavior, and in actions that were repeated over and over again towards many toddlers and babies.
