has already bought Tasers
and announced that the City will also be able to use them.
When asked about whether the City Government will be able to provide the Buenos Aires Police with the weapon, something that it has been demanding for a long time, he replied that "surely yes."
The official maintained that this purchase will allow "elite groups to begin training," as indicated in a dialogue with Radio 10. He added that the process will end and that the equipment will soon be in the country.
"In October I bought them, we made a tender, whoever presents himself as a buyer in a timely manner, since it is the Macrist era, takes us the ones they have here in part payment, which lowers the cost a lot," he said.
The debate around the Tasers began after the death of the Buenos Aires City Police officer, Maribel Zalazar, at the Retiro station on the C subway line.
The woman was shot twice when she was trying to help a man who said he was decompensated.
Unexpectedly, the young man took her service weapon and fired two shots at her, one in her chest and the other in her neck, killing her shortly after.
According to official information, one hundred of these non-lethal weapons were purchased for the Federal Police.
These are 100 pistols for elite forces of the Federal T7 model, which will arrive in the country with accessories, ammunition and licenses.
A "direct contracting by simple adjudication for exclusivity" was carried out.
The company that will supply the pistols is AXON Enterprise Inc, which will be paid US$169,990.

The purchase process began on October 31 and the award took place in the last days of December.
