Ayuso bites his tongue before the appointment of Feijóo and Casado: "I deal with the issues of the PP in the PP"

There are silences that say it all.

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has avoided commenting this Thursday on the meal shared on Wednesday by the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and his predecessor in office, Pablo Casado.

A moment of containment that does not hide the fact that Ayuso is not in favor of promoting the claim of the figure of the former leader, with whom she has not spoken since their confrontation caused a civil war in the conservative party just a year ago.

"I deal with PP issues in the PP", Ayuso said during the press conference after the weekly meeting of the governing council, held this time in the castle of Manzanares el Real on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Statute of Autonomy of the region, which was produced in that monument.

And he added: "I have little to say here in the governing council."

The excuse of separating the affairs of the party from those of the executive is at the heart of the confrontation between Casado and Ayuso.

The then president of the PP, and his team, headed by the general secretary, Teodoro García Egea, were against Ayuso accumulating all power in Madrid, adding to the institutional power inherent in the regional presidency the organic power linked to the party leadership in Madrid.

Consequently, they delayed as much as they could the call of the autonomic congress that had to decide the presidency of the regional PP.

And in the meantime, they gave wings to a controversy to weaken Ayuso's position: that a contract of 1.5 million euros between the Administration that she presides over and the Priviet company had allowed her brother to earn a commission of more than 55,000 euros , Tomas Diaz Ayuso.

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and his predecessor in that position, Pablo Casado, walk away after leaving the El Alabardero tavern in Madrid.

That Núñez Feijóo and Casado saw each other exactly one year after the end of that war, in which the Baroness prevailed, has been judged as a miscalculation by those around the regional president.

In professional politics, nobody believes in coincidences.

And less Ayuso's team, full of veterans, and from which this Thursday, at her own request, the until now general director of regional media, Sandra Fernández, was fired.

In this way, Francisco García will be the fourth professional to occupy that position since the PP leader occupies the regional presidency.

Although sources of the president's confidence insist on not giving more importance to the appointment ("neither fu nor fa"), the meeting between the last two presidents of the PP, scheduled in full debate on the possibility of recovering the figure of Casado de Faced with the 2023 electoral cycle, it produced something more than a surprise at the Real Casa de Correos, the seat of government in Madrid.

It has not gone unnoticed by anyone that Ayuso prefers to address the issue in a party forum, purely for the PP.

It's not just any thing.

The last time Ayuso did something like this was at a Board of Directors in March 2022, and he asked that heads roll for having put his brother on target.

"What I do ask is that everyone who has been part of this campaign [on his brother] be immediately put on the street," he said then.
