A man suspected of killing a woman in Florida on Wednesday returned to the scene of the crime and

killed a 9-year-old girl and a television reporter

, authorities said.

A crew from Spectrum News 13 went to Pine Hills, near Orlando, around 4:00 p.m. local time (2100 GMT) to cover the morning shooting death of a 20-something woman, Orange County Sheriff John Mine.

The horror began around 11 a.m. when the suspected gunman, 19-year-old

Keith Melvin Moses

, allegedly shot and killed a 20-year-old woman sitting in a car on the street, Mina said.

According to police, Moses had a lengthy criminal history that included weapons charges, aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and grand theft.

Moses reportedly returned to the scene five hours later and shot a Spectrum News 13 crew that was there reporting on the initial homicide.

Both a News 13 reporter and a photographer who were in and near his news van were shot.

The 24-year-old reporter, identified by family early Thursday as Dylan Lyons, has died.

The photographer was hospitalized in critical condition, Mina said, according to the

New York Post

.

Nearby, the same suspect entered a house for no apparent reason and

shot a woman and her nine-year-old daughter

.

The girl died of her injuries at the hospital as her mother fought for her life, the sheriff said.

Officers arrested Moses after the subsequent shootings and confirmed that

he was also a suspect in the murder of the 20-year-old woman

.

He was charged with one count of murder for the morning killing and is expected to face more charges for the second and third shootings, Mina said.

He was armed with a handgun, which officers believe to be the murder weapon, when he was pulled over by police.

According to police, he had a lengthy criminal history that included weapons charges, aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and grand larceny.

"We have arrested the suspect responsible for this morning's murder, as well as this afternoon's shootings," said the sheriff, who detailed Moses' criminal history with charges for firearms, aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon, among others.

The detainee had no relationship with the mother and daughter he shot or with the journalists, the officer explained.

He did know, however, the woman despondent in the morning.

"No one in our community, not a mother, not a nine-year-old child, let alone media professionals should be victims of armed violence," Mina lamented.
