Police Kwai Tsing District crack down on traffic violations and issue 1096 tickets and summons to tow 4 vehicles

The Kwai Tsing Police District and the Traffic Department of the New Territories South Region conducted a joint operation for two consecutive days. Traffic Days were held yesterday and today (22nd and 23rd) to ensure smooth traffic in the district and improve road users' awareness of law-abiding and traffic safety.

During the operation, the police issued a total of 1,092 fixed penalty (traffic violation) notices, and immediately towed away 4 vehicles that caused serious traffic obstruction; and issued 4 summonses for pedestrian violations.

The operation focused on cracking down on drivers blocking traffic at various traffic black spots in the district, and strictly enforced the law against illegal behaviors on sidewalks and roads near schools to ensure the safety of students.

Therefore, the police also used mobile video to enforce the law, and a total of 28 illegal vehicles were recorded.

Offenses include "illegal parking", "failure to obey road markings" and "use of mobile phone while the vehicle is in motion", etc.

The police also issued four summonses to prosecute pedestrians for traffic violations, including prosecuting pedestrians for crossing the road without obeying traffic lights and crossing the road within 15 meters of pedestrian crossing facilities.

The police said that the Kwai Tsing Police District will continue to strictly enforce the law to ensure smooth traffic and improve road safety and law-abiding awareness of road users to protect public safety.
