Propaganda innovations: the Israeli media proves that there is always room for further deterioration Israel today

2023-02-23T12:56:37.573Z

The elections and the orderly parliamentary process prove that Israeli democracy actually functions. What is happening in the media and on the streets is already football with a Fabergé egg

The results of the vote on the first articles of the reform in the first reading reflect the real balance of power in the country.

The vote was passed by a majority of 63 against 47. The left enjoys the ability to organize.

"Organization", this is the key word in the political warfare of the radical left and its communist foundations.

It is the ability to recruit hundreds of Shin Bet veterans to sign a letter, petition, etc.; to recruit lists of retired senior officers; to raise demonstrations in different places in the country. But where democracy really works - at the ballot box and in the Knesset - the power and the majority are clear.

There is the leadership from above - which starts with battle cries, which touch exposed nerves and ignite the masses of the left;

And there is the leadership from below - which consists of anarchists, professional rioters, perhaps professional revolutionaries, who are able to organize within a few hours tens of people, if not hundreds, to block Ayalon's routes, or to directly attack Knesset members and ministers.

And there is the "Haaretz" newspaper, which produces tunnel vision and a sounding board for the elites, to whom the propaganda is primarily directed.

Haaretz subscribes to the world view of the Nakba, and now it is selling the new opium to the masses, in Israel and abroad: Israel is not a democracy - it is becoming a dictatorship. You should pay attention to this. This is the new front of delegitimization for the State of Israel.

The left in Israel has chosen to put in the hands of the American administration and all the forces in the world that deal 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with delegitimization - a new weapon: "democracy", Netanyahu's "dictatorship", and other lies about the violation of balances and checks between the authorities in Israel.

On Tuesday morning, "Yediot Ahronoth" led the anxious hysteria, with the terrible headline: "Democracy under attack".

Why?

Because they are changing the composition of the committee for the appointment of judges.

At the same time, an interesting piece of news was published on CNN: the voters in Wisconsin are going to the polls today to vote for candidates for the seat of the Supreme Court of the state.

The masses of voters!

"Parvada" has never heard of such a thing.

The voters, the functionaries, the masses!

The judges are going to be chosen.

Prof. Manny Mautner, in his well-known book "Law and Culture in Israel at the Beginning of the 21st Century", wrote that when an issue is on the agenda of the High Court of Justice - one can be content with the editorials of "Haaretz" to know what the ruling will be. These editorials reflect their opinion The determinant of the most radical organizations that have taken over the agenda of the Supreme Court in the last generation.

Thomas Friedman, who is leading the attack in America against the Israeli government, said three years ago something true about the riots in his country following the killing of George Floyd: "I am usually an optimistic person, but never, never in my entire life, have I been more worried As for the fate of my country... I have a friend who is from Zimbabwe. She told me: You Americans kick your country like it's football. Be careful, it's not football - it's a Fabergé egg. You can drop it and break everything."

Friedman recalled his days in Beirut during the Lebanese civil war.

"I saw how civilization is falling apart... I am afraid that for the first time in my life there will not be fair and free elections, and that for the first time there will not be a normal transfer of power. Anyone who is not afraid of the breaking of the Fabergé egg - probably does not pay attention to what is happening."

The elections in Israel and the orderly parliamentary process prove that democracy functions in the right places.

What is happening in the media and on the streets is already football with a Fabergé egg.

A lesson in citizenship from Begin

Statements by security officials evoke nostalgia for Begin, who knew how to put one of them in his place: "A great rule in a democratic regime is the supremacy of the civil authority over the armed forces"

In the book "Derech Begin" (editor: Dror Bar-Yosef), which includes a selection of interesting quotes from the late Prime Minister Menachem Begin, it is told about a serious leak that happened in the summer of 1970 during the Golda government, of which Begin was a member.

A "security officer" from the Prime Minister's Office (probably a Shin Bet man) came to him to ask Begin some questions.

"I ask your permission to write your answers."

"My friend, I do not refuse to answer your questions, I refuse to hear them," Begin answered him.

Begin later explained to Prime Minister Golda Meir: "There is a great rule in a democratic regime, which is the supremacy of the elected civilian authority over the armed forces of the state... The elected civilian authority must supervise them, and not be investigated by them."

It was reported that the head of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, on his own initiative turned to Levin's rival, and before that also to Itamar Ben Gvir, and in the media this received the title of a "warning call": everything must be done to calm the area. He shared with Levin his assessments of the situation regarding the potential for violence. Is this similar to the situation What Begin described? The general statement that it was leaked is a kind of directive from one of the secret services to the Minister of Justice. "To do everything" - it could also mean stopping the reform, or canceling it.

And here, despite the threatening assessments presented by the head of the Shin Bet, it is precisely his henchmen who are throwing matches into the flammable air. By the way, is the Shin Bet trying to understand and analyze what are the causes of the flammable situation?

The doubt arises because of the statement of former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen, who also contributed an unfounded statement that if the legal reform is passed, democracy will be neutralized, or it will be the end of democracy.

This week it was reported about 456 Shin Bet veterans who expressed themselves in extreme language: "We call on you to demonstrate personal courage," they addressed Minister Avi Dichter, as head of the Shin Bet in the past, "as you demonstrated in the past when you did not take part in the predatory attack to weaken the judiciary. We see the intention The legislation to weaken the judiciary is a coup against the rules of the democratic regime."

Who teaches democracy in the secret services?

Who taught the Shin Bet veterans Arabic - we know that: Yariv Levin's father. The difficult atmosphere is the result of statements from high-ranking retired security personnel, chiefs of staff, generals - yes, members of the Shin Bet and Mossad.

The problem is not with the politicians, who according to various reports already these days know how to talk to each other and reach compromises.

This ability is difficult to attribute to senior legal officials.

Whereas the Shin Bet itself and the police looked bad in the last week when they did not quickly remove groups of violent anarchists who blocked members of the Knesset, and when the Knesset building itself was revealed to be permeable to dangerous radical elements. This also includes a demonstration of a personal threat against the Prime Minister. It is difficult to accept the continuation of the term of office of the Shev Currently, Commissioner of Police and Legal Advisor to the Government.

Chief of Staff Hertzi Halevi should have made a clear public statement a long time ago regarding the involvement of the IDF and its sergeants in the fight against the legal reform.

This means - all those senior officers who are recruiting the brotherhood of armored personnel carriers, reservists and pilots, and against the background of the threats of refusal by retired officers

The only one among the senior security captains who showed responsibility is the commander of the air force, who issued a letter to the reservists of the force and to the veterans of the force who are already beyond the reserves.

He demanded that they not involve the army in their political statements.

Against this background, the silence of the Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, is beginning to be disturbing. He should have made a clear public statement a long time ago regarding the involvement of the IDF in the fight against the legal reform.

This means - all those senior officers who recruit the brotherhood of armored personnel carriers, reservists, pilots, etc. in illegitimate propaganda parades.

In one of the marches you could see someone carrying a flag with the intelligence symbol.

The importance of the leadership required on the part of the Air Force Commander and the Chief of Staff is in two radical groups that initiate the struggle, which has become an orgy of self-destruction. One - the reserve pilots, who sometimes come to their squadrons and influence the regular pilots; the other - the group belonging to the Chief of Staff's patrol order.

According to all the trickles of information from those who meet them, or those who follow their statements, among the veteran pilots there is a radical, alienated stratum, whose people create difficult feelings when meeting them.

Even these difficult feelings do not need to be detailed.

The most basic values of democracy are from them onwards.

Military patrol members see themselves as an order. As in a kibbutz, you express a sense of belonging to the group, and the consciousness and collective conscience dominate you. As among the pilots, these are intelligent people who have certainly learned the technical details of democracy and liberalism, but such values are absorbed through the feet, not through the head. And through the legs, the orders of the military elite internalize superiority, alienation towards parts of society and a culture of tyranny and intolerance.

In his series on the Israel Defense Forces patrol, Omri Assenheim highlights the obvious: three prime ministers and other chiefs of staff and many other security officials who left the Israel Defense Forces patrol. This is a social process, which reveals a socio-political flaw in the Israeli fabric. As far as is known, given the political crisis, no Until now Chief of Staff Hertzi Halevi has shown the necessary leadership towards the reserve servants, the regular army and his former members of the unit.

Where are there more?

The late Major Mola Egin was torn from the inside, but knew how to maintain basic loyalty even in extreme disagreement with the government in June '67

In the past, the figure of the late Mullah Agin of Kibbutz Shuval was well known among the members of the radical left. Against the background of the threats of refusal and the multitude of anti-democratic behaviors of retired officers, it seems worthwhile to mention that there once was such a man.

In the 1960s, Mola Agin was perhaps known as the most left-wing man in the MPM. He believed in the communist revolutions of the Third World at the time. This did not prevent him from being a combat commander with the rank of major.

On the eve of the Six-Day War, when his unit was stationed on operational alert in front of the Gaza Strip, he expressed his view in front of her in the face of the difficult war in a letter to Koba Riptin, also a member of the left-wing opposition in MPAM: "From here, it seems certain that a war is going on.

Israel is going to carry out a major aggressive action again... Because of this, the depth of the political failure will be great... I demanded from Meir that the party take a clear and unequivocal position against this conspiracy, and not justify a policy that is unable to solve Israel's security problems."

At the end of his letter, and as if from the distance of the years, he writes to military men these days: "I am torn apart when I come to command a unit in such a large operation that I oppose politically, oppose from A to Z! How can we bear it?".

But he goes to war and fights to occupy Gaza as a company commander, he accepts responsibility and resolves the dissonance for himself.

The tragedy was complete.

Major Mola Agin was killed on the last day of the war that he opposed, when he stepped on a mine in Rafah.

It is not that his political and ideological conception was so wise.

But there was a rift within him, and he knew how to maintain basic loyalty even in extreme disagreement with the government and with the majority of the Israeli public in June '67.

The "values" people from Washington

Representatives of the American government meet every Monday and Thursday with Abu Mazen and his people, terrorists and anti-Semitism propagandists, but boycott Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gabir

You don't need night vision to see that today Americans like the anti-Semitic leader Abu Mazen more than the Prime Minister of Israel.

Every excuse from the government's point of view is used to the detriment of Israel.

For the democratic establishment, the reform in Israel is presented as "striving under the Supreme Court" and "striving under the separation of powers".

A perfect distortion drawn from the murky sources of the "New York Times" and "Haaretz" - two newspapers today that are closer ideologically and historiographically to the head of the Palestinian Authority Abbas than to the Israeli government.

They have three items in their arsenal of measures against Israel.

According to Dov Zakheim, who was once a member of the American security establishment, there are several refueling planes that are supposed to arrive in Israel and that the Americans are delaying.

Potentially, this could disrupt Israel's capabilities against Iran.

While Blinken squats every Monday and Thursday with Abu Mazen and his people, terrorists and propagandists of anti-Semitic ideology all their lives, the administration boycotts Smotrich and Ben Gabir.

In the case of Smotrich as finance minister, this is a problem.

The Minister of Finance has roles in the international economic field, comparable in importance to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

And there is also the section on the Prime Minister's visit to Washington.

Now, when the democratic administration is participating in the new front of delegitimization against Israeli democracy, the mere introduction of Netanyahu to the White House is a gift that the "values" people from Washington are reluctant to give.

It might be worth mentioning that according to the new criteria for democracy, the citizens of Wisconsin who voted to elect judges also create an island of dictatorship in the heart of the state of progressive values.

What is the USA called today? USSA.
