Roadblocks and vehicle towing: everything you need to know before the Tel Aviv Marathon Israel today

The Israel Police has completed its preparation for the Tel Aviv Marathon event that will take place tomorrow (Friday), between the hours of 05:30 and 13:30, in which tens of thousands of runners are expected to participate.

During the event, the streets on the race course will be closed to vehicular traffic, including the streets that cross and lead to the course, from 4:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

The race route: exit Rokah St. to the west near the Mimidion parking lot, Rokah Bridge, right to Ivan Gvirol against the direction of traffic, right to Shi Agnon against the direction of traffic, left to Levi Eshkol against the direction of traffic, left to Yuval Na'eman against the direction of traffic, left to Amichai Yehuda, right to 2040 (back road), left before Mark Chagel's square to Yitzhak Artzi Street, continue on the road that surrounds the parking lot, go around the Hashomer's booth, make a U-turn and continue running along the boardwalk, Tel Aviv Port, left to the boat landing, right to Yarkon, Herbert Samuel, Kuipman, right to Nahum Goldman, at the Clock Square, right to the second ascent through the Port Gate along the waterfront to the Peres Peace Center and back on the same route.

Further on - running through the second ascent to Nahum Goldman, left to Koifman.

At the Yosef Halevi intersection, turn right to Yarkon, right to Rabbi Kook, left to Ari, right to Allenby, left to Rothschild St., right to Marmorak, left to Huberman, right to Dizingoff, Kaplan, right to Aranya, left to Alof Magen, left to David Elazar, left to Kaplan in the opposite direction Traffic, Dizengoff against the direction, left to 137 Bd. Traffic, left to Frishman against the direction of traffic, left to Evan Gvirol against the direction and on David HaMelech, go to run with the direction, right to Rokach St., enter the Sportek parking lot to the end, then turn right into the park and run along the park's paths towards the east until the end point at the Show Hill.

Avoid parking in the running lanes starting Thursday evening.

Vehicles that will be on the running routes will be towed to the Reading and Nahum Goldman parking lots.

The scope of the blockades:


- Northern area: Gillot intersection, 2040, Levi Eshkol, SH Agnon.


- Eastern area: It will not be possible for vehicles from Bagin/Namir to travel west on the following streets: Bnei Ephraim, Rokach St., Panax, Arlozorov, Kaplan, The train.


- Western region: no vehicles will be allowed to travel at all on the coastal axis Herbert Samuel, Kuyfman.


- Southern region: no vehicles will be allowed to travel from south to north on the following routes: Y-M Ave. Ben Zvi, Elifelt from Kibbutz Galvoit, Kuyfman/Yarkon Marach Eilat, Herzl Street, Jaffa Road, Allenby from Menachem Begin.

Roadblocks: Derech Namir/Menachem Begin/Route 20 (Ayalon routes):


- Derech Namir will be closed to vehicular traffic from 08:00 until 11:45 between Gilolit and Shlomo Goren intersections (Halacha) in both directions.


- Highway 20 (Ayalon lanes) will be allowed to drive north and south during the entire race.

It will not be possible to enter and exit the interchanges as described below:


- Northbound and southbound Pharmacist interchange will be closed to vehicle traffic from 4:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.


- The northbound fairgrounds interchange will be closed to vehicle traffic from 4:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.


- There may be blockages of the ascents to the peace interchange according to traffic congestion.

The participating public and the audience expected to arrive at the event complex are requested to use the parking lots as detailed below:


- The industrial area in B.B. on Yarakon St.


- The RG Stadium parking lot on Sheshet Hamim St.


- The Industrial Zone parking lot, near the Mother of the Colonies.


- Kiryat Shaul civilian+military parking lot, in Moshe Sana/Bnei Ephraim in Tel Aviv.


- Parking lots on Berzel St./Raul Wallenberg.


- Rafidim parking lot on Rafidim St.


- Fair Center parking lots (Rokah St.) and Drive Inn parking lots (on Isaac Ramba St. ) in which access will be possible until 06:00)


- University parking lots, George Weiss St. in Tel Aviv.


- Arlozorov train parking lot, at a crossroads.

Instructions to the public participating in the race and to the public expected to arrive at the event complex in Yehoshua Gardens:


- It is recommended to arrive at the event complex by Israel Railways, University Station.


- Weapons will not be allowed into the event area.


- Bicycles/electric bicycles will not be allowed into the event area, nor into the race route.

General instructions for the public:


- Avoid using vehicles on roads and streets that will be blocked as mentioned.


- The road closures will be marked on the day of the event in the Waze app and the municipality hotline 106, the driving public is advised to update accordingly.


- Studies will take place in schools and kindergartens.

As a result of the blockades, there is a likelihood of difficulties in reaching the educational institutions in Tel Aviv, and preparations must be made accordingly.

Tens of thousands of participants will start in the early morning hours on Friday 24.2 from Rokah Boulevard in Tel Aviv. The various stages, including a full marathon (42.2 km), a half marathon (21.1 km), a 10 km running stage, a 5 km stage m and hand bike race, will be medically secured by large MDA forces, who will provide a medical response if necessary.

In the area of ​​the event and along the entire length of the routes, MDA forces will be deployed with dozens of intensive care vehicles, ambulances and emergency motorcycles, which will be transported with medical equipment on the routes themselves, alongside the runners. Squads of first aid providers will patrol on foot along the route, in order to provide a medical response to any need. At the end, 2 marathon triage tents with intensive care beds will be erected, staffed by MDA medics and paramedics and nurses and doctors from Ichilov Hospital.

Advanced medical equipment will be placed in the tents, which also includes pools of water with ice, the purpose of which is to cool, if necessary, victims of heatstroke, and in addition three more treatment tents will be erected.

Director of the Yarkon Region of MDA, Dori Haim: "The hundreds of medics, paramedics and first aid providers of MDA and the doctors and nurses from Ichilov Hospital who work in full cooperation with the marathon production and the Israel Police are prepared to provide an immediate medical response and handle any scenario.

The Playtika Tel Aviv Marathon is a fun sporting event and in order to maintain the health of the runners, I ask everyone to obey the instructions of the organizers, make all the necessary health preparations in advance, and if you do not feel well, slow down the activity, stop on the side of the track and immediately call the MDA forces deployed in the area either on the 101 emergency line or through the 'My MDA' applet (app).
