Tonight (23rd) at 10 o'clock, a fire broke out in the lower block of Shek Chun House, Shek Lei (1) Estate, Kwai Chung. A team of smoking caps put out the fire by about 11 p.m.
Ambulances arrived at the scene, but no one was injured, and about 60 people evacuated on their own.
It is reported that there was no one in the unit at the time of the incident. The police found the male head of the unit where the fire broke out in the stairwells of the 1st and 2nd buildings. He was only wearing underwear when he was found.
The male head of the household was subsequently arrested by the police, covered his head with a black cloth and sent to the hospital by ambulance for examination.
The police reclassified the case as "arson" for follow-up, and are investigating whether the arrested person is related to the two previous arson cases of amusement facilities in the district, as well as the mental state of the arrested person.

According to on-site sources, the incident occurred in a unit on the 6th floor.
Photos and videos uploaded by netizens to social networking sites showed that the burning unit was blazing, with flames coming out of the windows, and a large amount of black smoke rising into the air.
The "Hong Kong 01" reporter saw at the scene that an air conditioner was burned and fell to the ground. After the fire was extinguished, it could be seen that the outside of the unit was severely blackened, and the window frame was burned to the point of deformation.
