The course of events began a little less than six months ago, when Saudi Arabia approved direct flights to and from Israel over its territory, but Oman, a relatively small country located on the border of Saudi Arabia, in its eastern region, did not approve the passage of flights, which prevented the shortening of flights to the east.
Now, Oman has announced that it is possible to cross to Israel and Israel over its territory, which will shorten the flights to Thailand, Japan and South Korea from 11 to 8.5 hours, and to India from 8 to 5.5 hours.
Flights to China and Hong Kong will be shortened by about two hours, and so on.

At the same time, foreign airlines that were not allowed to fly on a shortened route to Israel are expected to re-examine their arrival in Israel and it is possible that in the near future we will see interest from foreign airlines from the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, Singapore and other countries that can fly from and to them on the shortened route.
El Al has already announced that they are considering the return of direct flights to India and are interested in operating a new route to Australia, where there is a very large Jewish community without the possibility of flying directly to Israel.
Of course, Australia is also considered a popular tourist destination, and direct flights will make the country more accessible to the Israeli tourist.
