The authorities of Inner Mongolia Province, north China, announced that 12 people were killed, 12 injured, and 47 others missing, as a result of a coal mine collapse in the region.
Xinhua quoted the rescue headquarters as saying today: The collapse of the open-pit coal mine in the left Alkasa flag in the region last Wednesday killed six people, injured six others, and left 47 people missing.
The authorities confirmed that the six injured suffer from wounds to the head, pelvis, chest, hands and upper limbs, noting that investigations into the circumstances of the collapse are still ongoing.
The local authority launched a comprehensive safety reform campaign in the workplace after the aforementioned mine accident.
And the authorities announced last Wednesday that more than fifty workers were trapped underground as a result of the collapse of a coal mine, and that three of the workers were recovered from it.
