Dr. Ali Khawam Al-Tamimi, a professor at the University of Baghdad, who was part of the delegation accompanying the convoy, told reporters that the convoy that set off from Baghdad three days ago came in response to the call of the Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Party, Nuri al-Maliki, former Iraqi Prime Minister, and under the supervision of the Supreme Relief Committee of the party, where it was delivered with cooperation and coordination. between the Syrian and Iraqi sides to provide relief to those affected by the earthquake.
Al-Tamimi added: This aid is only a small contribution and a response of gratitude and gratitude to the Syrian people, who have always stood by their Iraqi brothers in various circumstances, and withstood in the face of terrorism, its killers and defeating it.
In turn, the director of the Al-Nasser Foundation for Social Solidarity, Nasser Al-Musawi Al-Maqsosi, made a humanitarian appeal and message to Arab and Islamic countries and countries of the world to stand by the Syrian people.
Mahmoud Al-Zubaidi, a former general director at the Ministry of Culture and from the delegation accompanying the convoy, pointed out the historical and human relations that unite Syria and Iraq over time, and that they are not a spur of the moment, pointing out that it is natural for the Iraqi people to stand by their Syrian brothers and alleviate their pain, grief and suffering as a result of this. disaster.
