Performing such a job requires organizational talent and, last but not least, a great sense of responsibility.
However, he wasn't always aware that he might one day make a name for himself as the youngest head of an airport fire department.
His career began at the age of 15.
Then as now at Nuremberg's Albrecht Dürer Airport - the big difference: if he is now employed by the airport fire brigade, he was previously a trainee who aspired to become an office clerk.
And yet: Even then, his real interest was in the big, red fire engine vehicles.

After completing his training, he was initially employed in baggage handling before he found his way from a fire inspector to training as a fire chief and finally to management of the airport fire brigade.
He acquired additional expertise, which is in demand in his profession, through further training as a paramedic.
Matthias Reumann was busy, kept climbing the fire brigade ladder.
He now knows Nuremberg Airport inside out.
In his job he encounters death and suffering, life and joy at the same time - these contrasts, the surprising and unexpected as well as the many thanks from people are what would motivate him every day.
