Dismembered woman in Buttes-Chaumont: the husband confessed to having killed her

This man had been placed Thursday morning in police custody, after the discovery on February 13 in the Parisian park of a plastic bag containing the pelvis and the thighs of a 46-year-old woman.


The husband of the woman discovered dismembered in the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, in Paris, confessed to having killed her, according to a source familiar with the matter at AFP.

This man was taken into custody on Thursday morning.

Another person was also taken into custody, but this measure was lifted during the day.

On February 13, a plastic bag containing this woman's pelvis and thighs was discovered under a pile of green waste in Buttes-Chaumont by municipal parks and gardens officials.

The 46-year-old woman was still dressed in "

blue jeans

" with "

floral decoration

" at the thigh, according to a police source.

The large park in the northeast of Paris, very popular with walkers, was immediately evacuated and searched by the police.

The next day, other remains, including the head, were found.

Less than 48 hours after the discovery of the first part of the body, the police officers of the criminal brigade, seized of the investigation, had identified the victim thanks to the analysis of his fingerprints.

Judicial information was opened on February 17 for murder, attack on the integrity of a corpse and concealment of a corpse.

Husband's inconsistencies

Several media revealed last Friday that the husband's statements, deemed inconsistent, had aroused the suspicions of investigators.
