Ouagadougou, SANA - Mali's Prime Minister Chugwill Koukala Maiga has called for stopping dependence on foreign armies in the country

Ouagadougou-Sana

Mali's Prime Minister Chogwill Koukala Maiga has called for stopping dependence on foreign armies in the face of terrorist groups operating in Burkina Faso and Mali.

“No foreign army will come to fight in our place, and we are certain that terrorism will be defeated in the Sahel region, and we will win this war with our armies,” Maiga was quoted by Agence France-Presse as saying during his meeting with Burkina Faso Prime Minister Kaylem Tambila in Ouagadougou yesterday.

Last Wednesday, terrorists killed about ten army volunteers in an attack in northern Burkina Faso, while about seventy soldiers were killed in two other attacks in the north near the border with Mali.

Maiga commented on the attacks, saying: "What extremist groups are doing today aims to weaken your morale and make you suspicious of your army. The same things happened in Mali before."

It is noteworthy that the authorities of Burkina Faso severed the military agreements with France in mid-January, so that the French ambassador and the French special forces with the (Saber) mission left the country, and Mali also expelled the French forces from its territory.
