The scientific day, in which a number of medical specialists provided emergency and treatment measures in cases of natural disasters, was titled “Medical Management of Natural Disasters - Earthquakes and Tremors.”
Dr. Iskandar Ammar, Director General of the General Authority of Al-Bassel Hospital, explained that this day is held with the aim of introducing medical measures and how to deal first with the injuries resulting from natural disasters at the site of the accident from the first moment or the moment of evacuating the injured from the site of the accident until they reach the hospitals to take the necessary measures. And treat each case separately according to its health status.
Dr. Firas Hussamou, an emergency medicine specialist, indicated that the information presented on this scientific day includes the general methodology that must be followed with the mass injured at the beginning of the matter at the site of the disaster, and the process of providing first aid treatment to them so that the medical staff in the hospital upon their arrival can deal immediately and evaluate the health condition to take appropriate treatment measures. .
In turn, the general surgery specialist, Dr. Behs Hamdan, talked about how to deal with the injured upon their arrival at the hospital and the procedures followed in terms of securing the airway, stopping the bleeding, and ensuring health stability to take the appropriate measure, whether it was surgical, vascular, orthopedic, and others.
