»A year ago I addressed you at seven in the morning from this very square.
It only lasted 67 seconds and included the two most important things, then and now.
That Russia has launched a full war of aggression against us.
And that we are strong.
We're ready for anything.
We will defeat everyone.
Because we are Ukraine.
This is how February 24, 2022 began. The longest day of our lives.
The hardest day in our recent history.
We woke up early and haven't slept since.
Our trust has grown. Our morale has been boosted. We endured the first day of this all-out war. We didn't know what would happen tomorrow, but we knew: Every morning is worth fighting for. And we fought. And we fought bitterly every day. And we endured the second day. And then the third. It was said about us that we would hold out for three days. They threatened us that we would cease to exist in 72 hours. But we survived the fourth day. And then the fifth. And today we have been standing here for exactly one year. And we still know: Every morning is worth fighting for.
We will not rest until the Russian murderers get their just punishment. The punishment of the international courts. The Judgment of God. Our warrior. Or all together. The verdict is obvious. Nine years ago our neighbor became the aggressor. A year ago, the aggressor became an executioner, looter and terrorist. We have no doubt that they will be held accountable. We have no doubt that we will win.
We will defeat all threats. Shelling, bombs, rockets, kamikaze drones, power outages, cold. We are stronger than all of that. It's been a year of endurance, a year of compassion, a year of courage, a year of pain, a year of hope, a year of perseverance, a year of unity, a year of invincibility. A bitter year of invincibility. In the end, the most important thing is that we survived. We have not been defeated. And we will do everything to win this year.«
