The teachers' organization announced today (Friday) that starting Sunday it will renew the sanctions in protest of the Ministry of Finance's proposal for the new collective agreement, within which it demanded a 30% increase in the salary of all teachers in secondary education.

As part of the struggle, the organization instructed the teachers not to give grades to the students, and not to go on activities outside the schools, including trips and competitions.

"The Ministry of Finance is ruining secondary education and submitted a disgraceful proposal that hurts teachers and students, apparently for them the divorce is more important than the quality of education," attacked the chairman of the teachers' organization Ran Erez. "We will not allow this.

We are renewing the struggle and will intensify it to the point of a general strike, the upper elementary teachers are not destitute."
