Winter is far from having said its last word this weekend, as announced by the Weather Channel*

Temperatures are down sharply, and the feeling is cold across the country: the wind is blowing at nearly 60 km/h in gusts.
Sustained rains are also being monitored in the South-East, especially between the
Côte d'Azur
and
Corsica
, and heavy snow in the southern Alps, reaching the coast overnight from Sunday to Monday
.
In question, the anticyclone which strengthens on the British Isles and in Scandinavia and the depression which widens in the Mediterranean, which holds in pincers the greater part of France, on which blows a cold and dry air.
Saturday: the cold sets in
On the northern half of the country, if the clouds are still numerous at the beginning of the day, the clearings widen as the hours go by under the effect of a north-easterly wind which is strengthening.
In the south of the country, the sky remains fairly cloudy overall.
A disturbance is falling on the regions close to the
Pyrenees
and
Languedoc-Roussillon
with rain and snow above 1200 meters on the reliefs.
Temperatures at daybreak are generally between 1 and 6°C except in the South-East with temperatures rising to 11°C.
In the afternoon, we expect between 6 and 9°C in the North and 8 to 15°C in the South.
Sunday, the freshness is accentuated
The sun imposes itself on the regions of North and West, but the north wind which blows up to 70 km/h in gusts brings an icy feeling.
The cold is gaining ground to the south and the feeling is also very cold in the regions exposed to the mistral and the tramontana.

In the South-East, the sky veils quickly under the effect of a depression in the vicinity of
Corsica
.
The episode of disturbed weather begins at midday with rain on the
Côte d'Azur
and snow from 800 m on the southern Alps and the border Alps.
This disturbed sky continues until Monday morning.
In Corsica, the weather promises to be very unstable with sustained rains which could take on a stormy character.
Thereafter, the weather deteriorated markedly in the
PACA
region on Sunday afternoon and evening, with cold rain and an easterly gale.
In the evening and overnight, the snow is falling at very low altitude and could hold on to the ground, whitening Provence, the lower Rhône valley and Languedoc on
Monday
morning.
