50 male and female volunteers at the Barkiah Charity Association in Tartous, in cooperation with the civil society, continue the campaign to collect donations and humanitarian aid under the title (from family to family), and distribute them to those affected by the earthquake.
The head of the association’s council, Ahmed Abbas, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the initiative was characterized by a wide and rapid civil response that reflected a deep national image towards the people of the country in various regions, pointing to the conduct of an aid convoy to Jableh that includes 631 relief food baskets, and the distribution of hundreds of baskets in Al-Qadmous and Drakeesh, and work is underway. Currently to prepare a campaign to the region of Baniyas and its countryside.
The volunteer, Maya Dakour, explained that, since the first hours of the earthquake, she and her colleagues developed a plan to help those affected, as she worked to pack all the aid provided by the various segments of society and sort them into baskets. And the joy of the Syrians will remain the same.
The Vice-Chairman of the Society's Council, Marwa Yashouti, indicated that work is currently underway to develop a program for psychological support that includes various and targeted activities for the benefit of the earthquake-affected people coming to the region of all age groups.
