A Florida teen knocks a school employee unconscious after he took her Nintendo Switch

The assault happened at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast and was recorded on video. The minor, 17 years old and 122 kilos, has been charged with felony aggravated injuries.

A 6-foot Florida high school student punched a school employee unconscious after confiscating her Nintendo Switch, according to police and surveillance video of the attack.

The assault occurred Tuesday at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Palm Coast is about 35 miles (56 kilometers) north of Daytona Beach.

The 17-year-old student is six feet (1.90 meters) tall and weighs 270 pounds (122 kilos), according to authorities.

"The student stated that he was upset that the victim took his Nintendo Switch during class," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

The teen has been charged with felony assault with bodily harm and has been turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Video of the incident provided by the sheriff shows the student, who has not been identified because he is a minor, lunging at the worker and pushing her to the ground.

She runs out of steam and, according to the arrest report, appears to lose consciousness.

The video captures how the teenager kicks the worker twice while she is on the ground.

He then hits her more than a dozen times on the body and head, the video shows.
