Thousands of people demonstrated in the center of the German capital, Berlin, today, to reject the continued German and Western military support for the regime in Kiev.
According to RIA Novosti, more than 25,000 people took part in the demonstration, according to preliminary estimates by the organizers, as they carried banners reading: “This is not our war,” “Diplomacy, not weapons,” and “German weapons are killing Russians and Ukrainians again.”
During the demonstration, a member of the German Parliament for the Left Party, Sarah Wachkennecht, called on the government of Chancellor Olaf Scholz to work to immediately de-escalate the conflict, to refrain from supplying the Kiev regime with weapons, and to lead a European peace initiative to resolve the existing conflict.
In turn, representatives of the Alternative for Germany party called for overcoming internal political differences, in order to seek peace and end the war in Ukraine.
Thousands of people demonstrated in Dresden, eastern Germany, yesterday, to protest Western military support for the Kiev regime.
