A 17-year-old boy was arrested in the US state of Florida for
beating unconscious an
assistant teacher at the high school where he is a student, after she
took a video game console from him
.
The security cameras of the Matanzas High School, in Flagler County (eastern Florida), recorded the beating that the young man gave the assistant in a hallway
until security personnel arrived and arrested him
.
In the video, published this Saturday by various media, it is seen that the student
continues to kick the woman when she lies unconscious
on the floor, after he pushed her with such force that she fell almost two meters from where he was.
The student,
with special needs, is more than two meters tall and weighs more than 120 kilograms
, school sources said.
After the beating, according to police reports, he spat at the victim and threatened to kill her.
For privacy reasons, the school did not report the status of the victim, who was taken to a hospital.
The young man was confined in an institution for juvenile delinquents to be prosecuted for aggravated assault
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly told Orlando's WESH channel that
"it could have been a homicide
. "
"When you push people down like that and they hit their heads, you never know the outcome," the police official said.
