Chief Executive Lee Ka-chao met with Macau Chief Executive Ho Iat-seng at Government House today (25th) to exchange views on promoting Hong Kong-Macau cooperation and the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Secretary for Justice Lam Ting-kwok, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Yang Runxiong, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Tsang Kwok-wai and Director of the Chief Executive's Office Ip Man-juan were also present.


Lee Ka-chao to visit Macau next week

Li Jiachao introduced the "Integration into the National Development Situation Steering Group" to He Yicheng to strengthen the top-level overall supervision and make Hong Kong more actively and proactively integrate into the national development situation.

He said that Hong Kong and Macau have always complemented each other's strengths and cooperated closely in different important fields such as commerce and trade, cross-border infrastructure, cultural tourism, etc., and jointly promoted the construction of the Greater Bay Area.

He Yicheng also visited and inspected the Hong Kong Science Park and an innovative research and development center for traditional Chinese medicine under the "InnoHK Innovation Hong Kong R&D Platform" in cooperation with the University of Macau.

Li Jiachao said that he welcomes the Macau Tourism Bureau to invite a Hong Kong tourism industry delegation to visit Macau this month to promote tourism cooperation between Hong Kong and Macau and the development of the tourism industries of the two places.

Li Jiachao said that he looks forward to visiting Macau next week and discussing with He Yicheng to further strengthen cooperation between Hong Kong and Macau, create more development momentum for the Greater Bay Area including Hong Kong and Macau, and work together to make greater contributions to the development of the country.

He Yicheng looks forward to cooperating to hold grand events

Ho Iat Seng thanked the Hong Kong government for its warm reception, saying that Hong Kong's economy has a good foundation and a solid foundation in the international financial market. Macau relies on the support of the country and friendly support from all over the world, including Hong Kong.

He Yancheng said that the two places will strengthen cooperation and coordinated development in technological innovation, finance, traditional Chinese medicine, tourism, culture, sports, etc., and promote win-win cooperation in industrial development.

Hong Kong and Macau can jointly host grand events, such as concert tours and internationally renowned football games, to integrate innovation into the development of the Greater Bay Area.

The Macao delegation to Hong Kong this time includes the Secretary for Administration and Justice, Zhang Yongchun, the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Li Weinong, and the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Xu Lifang.

Accompanied by Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, the visiting delegation visited the Science Park and visited the Innovation and Technology Experience Hall.
