The giant Polish oil group, Orlen, announced that Russia had stopped pumping oil to it through the Druzhba pipeline.
And Agence France-Presse quoted the Polish group as saying in a statement today: The pumping of oil in the Druzhba pipeline “was carried out according to the last contract in force, which covered about 10 percent of its needs,” noting that all future supply operations could be secured by sea.
Russia's halt to oil deliveries through the Druzhba pipeline to Poland comes in response to the European Union's decision to impose a new package of sanctions targeting the Russian economy.
